Paper Based on the holdings of Stalin’s personal library, this will be an illustrated talk about the dictator’s life as a reader and an intellectual. Geoffrey Roberts is Emeritus Professor of History at University College Cork and a Member of the Royal Irish Academy. A Soviet history specialist, his many books include The Unholy Alliance: Stalin’s Pact with Hitler, Stalin’s Wars: From World War to Cold War, 1939-1953, Stalin’s General: The Life of Georgy Zhukov, and Molotov: Stalin’s Cold Warrior. His book about Stalin’s personal library was published by Yale University Press in February 2022
