Ahmed Khalid

Biography

I completed my undergraduate degree from National University of Science and Technology Pakistan in the field of Computer Science and Engineering in 2011. After having worked as a Network Operations Engineer for Nayatel (Internet Service Provider) in Pakistan for almost 8 months, I went on to South Korea where I received my Master’s degree in Computer Science from POSTECH in 2015. 

In 2019, I successfully completed my Ph.D. in MISL, School of Computer Science and Information Technology, University College Cork, Ireland and graduated in June 2020. I engaged in the SFI iVID project under the supervision of Prof. Cormac Sreenan. iVID was a 4-year research project funded by Science Foundation Ireland and under this project I conducted my research about the use of software defined networking (SDN) techniques to optimize the delivery of streaming video.

Research Interests

My current research interests include Software defined networking, Multimedia networking and Network Simulation.
