Bibliotherapy
SHELF HELP - BIBLIOTHERAPY
UCC Student Health and Wellbeing in conjunction with UCC Staff Wellbeing and UCC Library have put together a Bibliotherapy project called SHELF HELP.
Bibliotherapy is the use of books for therapeutic purposes. It adopts a problem solving approach to getting through tough times and can help you learn more about what you are going through.
It can be done on your own, with a therapist or in a group and can be a useful start in working your way through mild and moderate feelings of depression, anxiety, panic and other mental health issues.
Topics covered range from anxiety, mindfulness, sexuality to substance abuse and more.
All books in the bibliotherapy collection are available in UCC Library, Brookfield Health Sciences Library and CUH Library. UCC Library has created a helpful library guide to bibliotherapy, click here to view.
There are seperate comprehensive bibliotherapy book lists available for staff and students and these can be found below.
