Film Artist in Residence (Screenwriter) University College Cork

2 September 2019–30 August 2020

Applications are invited from film artists of distinction for the above role, jointly funded by the Arts Council and University College Cork.

The 3rd European University Film Award went to the Italian film HAPPY AS LAZZARO (Lazzaro felice) by Alice Rohrwacher. During a public presentation at the Studio-Kino on the same evening the winner was announced by the students and the film was shown. The award was presented to Alice Rohrwacher as part of the 31st European Film Awards in Sevilla, at the welcome reception hosted by the Creative Europe Desk on December 14, 2018 to producer Carlo Cresto-Dina and later on to Alice Rohrwacher.

The Department of Film and Screen Media is delighted to announce an evening with 2018-9 Arts Council/UCC Film Artist in Residence, Pat Murphy.
Pat will discuss her work and introduce a screening of Tana Bana on Wednesday 20^thMarch at 5.15pm in the Film and Screen Media auditorium, Kane basement.

Between 21–25 January 2019, The Department of Film and Screen Media will host a series of screenings to mark Refugee Week. All screenings will be introduced and take place in the Film and Screen Media Auditorium, Kane Building B10B (Basement).

Please note that the screening of The Great Wall will be followed by a Q&A session with the director, Tadhg O’Sullivan.
