In July 2022, Bobby Gardiner’s enduring contribution to Irish traditional music was once again formally recognised at a tribute concert held at the Scoil Samhraidh Willie Clancy / Willie Clancy Summer School.

Many congratulations to our wonderful fiddle tutor, Connie O'Connell who has been awarded the prestigious TG4 Gradam Ceoil Cumadóir/Composer Award. 

The Music Department are delighted to acquire a portrait of the renowned Cork-born traditional music collector, Francis O'Neill (1849-1936) in celebration of 100 years of Irish traditional music at UCC. 

The Traditional Music Archive, Music Department, UCC were delighted to receive wonderful 19th century manuscripts dating from 1845 to 1866 which were donation by Cork musician and composer Aidan Duggan.

The 2022 Ó Riada Memorial Lecture was delivered at the Music Department's Ó Riada Hall by our own Mary Mitchell-Ingoldsby on Thursday 3rd of March.
