English for Work and Life (EWAL) + Enhanced Communication Skills in the Workplace
5 mornings 09:00 to 13:00 and 2 afternoons from 14:00 to 16:00
Come to our beautiful university campus in the heart of Cork city, Ireland.
Our English for Work and Life (EWAL) + Enhanced Communication Skills in the Workplace course is available at different levels, from A2 to C1.
Our EWAL course is designed to help you to improve in all areas of English language ability, but with a particular focus on the development of oral skills communication for use in a range of real-life situations.
In the mornings from 09:00 to 13:00, you will join our EWAL courses and work in small, friendly groups with students who come from all over the world. Our highly skilled teachers will help you to develop your English quickly while also having fun as you learn and interact with classmates.
We integrate the Connected Curriculum of our University into our lessons. The lesson content covers such diverse areas as employability, sustainability, civic engagement and global reach.
In the afternoon, we will form a closed-group class with other University administrative staff who are also on Erasmus+ mobility programmes. Over two afternoons, from 14:00 to 15:45, we will provide sessions which target the specific English language and communication skills needed for those working in international third-level institutions.
This programme also includes 2 one-hour additional classes: a communicative English class, and an English for Examinations class.
We understand that travelling to Ireland is an exciting adventure. As well as providing dynamic and learning-rich English language lessons, we also provide you with much information about cultural events happening in our University, Cork city and Ireland.
On completion of the course, we give all participants a certificate of attendance.
Our university is a world leader in sustainability, ranked second globally in the 2025 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings. As such, we try to be a paperless university and request that all documents, when possible, use e-signatures.
We are really looking forward to welcoming you here to our wonderful campus in the heart of Cork city, Ireland.

It was better than I expected. The classes were engaging, fun and I got quite a few good ideas about what to pay special attention to when reading and writing texts. Fredrik Häggström. KTH Stockholm
For me, the best thing was the friendliness and professionality of the teachers and the whole staff, and the warm and comfortable atmosphere in the classes which allowed everyone to participate on their own level of skills. Alicia López, Spain
What I enjoyed most about the course was the opportunity to learn from different teachers who used diverse and engaging teaching methods, as well as meeting colleagues from various countries and professional backgrounds. Aida Norvilienė, France
I would definitely recommend this to colleagues because the atmosphere at the university was so relaxed, the teachers were excellent, and the people in Cork are so incredibly friendly. Monique van Mosel-Kantoor, The Netherlands
