A new Nursing degree programme was established in UCC in September 2002. To accommodate a large intake of students in the academic year 2002 - 2003, UCC decided to develop vacated space within the UCC Enterprise Centre to accommodate five dedicated lecture rooms together with a clinical studies room, canteen and administration facilities.

These teaching areas were supplemented with rented accommodation in the Gate Cinema (3 no. cinemas) together with administration offices in Crosses Green.

Update

The project commenced on site in July 2002 and was completed in October 2002. The project cost was in the region of €800,000.
