Dr Anne Moore, School of Biochemistry & Cell Biology, named as leading member of the Government’s new Covid-19 Advisory Group.

The IACR hosted their annual conference in The Radisson Hotel, Little Island, Co Cork.

To honour the contribution of Professor John Atkins, a family of newly discovered viruses, Atkinsviridae, has been named after Professor John Atkins (1944–present) for his discovery of the lysin protein from Escherichia virus MS2 [Atkins JF. et al., Cell. 1979; 18:247–256] PubMed.

The Eli Lilly Awards ceremony for Academic Excellence in Biochemistry and Biotechnology was held in-person on Wed 23rd March 2022.

On Tuesday 25th of January, the UCC Biochemistry and Biotechnology Society held an information seminar on MSc Programmes in UCC. 

Congratulations to Jennifer McCarthy, who attained a  WiSTEM²D Johnshon & Johnson Scholarship. 

On Tuesday the 23rd of November, the UCC Biochemistry & Biotechnology Society hosted the MSc Biotechnology Master’s Seminar.

The conferring ceremony for our BSc (Hons) Biochemistry, Biotechnology and Genetics students was held on campus on Sunday 21st November 2021.
