A number of events across 3 days

On 5th & 6th September 2024, we held this exciting conference on Raciolinguistics, the first of its kind in Ireland. Speakers from Ireland, Europe, US & Latin America joined us for this event. 

SPLAS would like to invite you to attend this coming Half-day Symposium on Iberian Early Modernity, to be held on Thursday, 16 May, in the Mary Ryan Seminar Room, O'Rahilly Building.

This date marks the official launch of the Brazilian Leitorado in the university, the first one in Ireland.

We are excited to invite you to the screening of the documentary Towards life/Tras la vida. The screening will be followed by an engaging online conversation with its director Anais Taracena and protagonist Ana Enamorado.

Symposium

Clyde Moneyhun translates contemporary Catalan-language poetry and has published translations of Ponç Pons (El salobre/Salt, 2017), Dolors Miquel (Haikús del camioner/Truck Driver Haikus, 2019), and Anna Dodas i Noguer (El volcà/The Volcano, 2022).  His translation of Bruixa de dol/Witch in Mourning by Maria-Mercè Marçal appeared in 2023. His current project is an anthology of the 20th century Catalan-language poets Maria Antònia Salvà, Caterina Albert, Rosa Leveroni, Clementina Arderiu, and Maria-Mercè Marçal.  A descendant of Menorcan immigrants to the United States, he maintains a residence in Maó.  He teaches writing and literary translation at Boise State University in Idaho.
