Translating Implementation Science: CFIR User Guide Workshop with Dr Claire Kerins.
On 12 February 2026, we had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Claire Kerins for an online seminar introducing the updated CFIR User Guide.
The session provided participants with practical guidance on applying CFIR across diverse implementation research settings — beyond healthcare — and highlighted tools to support systematic barrier identification and transparent reporting.
Dr. Kerins is a Lecturer in Evidence-Based Healthcare at the University of Galway and a member of the Centre for Health Research Methodology. In 2024, she became the only non-US member of the CFIR Leadership Team at the US Veterans Health Administration and recently co-authored the CFIR User Guide published in Implementation Science. Her work focuses on translating evidence into policy and practice, and she brings extensive expertise in evidence synthesis, implementation science, and clinical leadership, including her previous role as Lead Specialist Dietitian at Croí.
The seminar was attended by over 60 participants and sparked an engaging discussion on how CFIR can be applied across varied research contexts. Resources and tools introduced during the session are available through the updated CFIR website: https://cfirguide.org
