EPMG Research Showcase in Dublin

17 Dec 2024

The EPMG had a wonderful morning at Engineers Ireland showcasing some of our energy modelling research and policy insights from University College Cork focusing on carbon budgets, policy pathways, emissions, energy security and engagement on infrastructure.

Great discussions with nearly 100 stakeholders and friends from policy, industry and NGO communities. Thanks to all for the warm compliments and the tough questions.

Huge thanks to Oisín Coghlan, Jeanne Moore, John Fitzgerald and Fionnuala Callanan for chairing, opening and closing, also to fellow presenters Fionn Rogan, Hannah Daly, Paul Deane, Vahid Aryanpur, Alexandra Revez and Tomás Mac Uidhir. Special thanks to Aisling Murphy for putting it all together so well and to Jeanne Spillane and Ciara Doherty for their support.

Final thanks to our funders, without whom we couldn't have done this research over the past quarter of a century - Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Ireland, Research Ireland, Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI), Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications, EirGrid Group, ESB, ESB Networks, Irish Solar Energy Association (ISEA), European Commission, Irish Bioenergy Association (IrBEA), Friends of the Earth Ireland, Climate Change Advisory Council Ireland, International Energy Agency (IEA), IEA-ETSAP | Energy Technology Systems Analysis Program, International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), Gas Networks Ireland, Energy Exemplar and Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU).
