MSc Microbiome Science
MSc Microbiome Science is a new course from the School of Microbiology at University College Cork, with input from leading academics based at APC Microbiome Ireland. This course has been developed to meet the demands of academia and industry in the field of microbiome science.
The Masters (MSc) in Microbiome Science is a structured 12-month full-time programme which offers a unique combination of microbiology and computational biology. There is a strong emphasis on practical skills training alongside state-of-the-art academic and theoretical content.
Modules include:Computational Microbiome Analysis; Cross-kingdom Signalling in Microbe-Host Interactions; Ecology of Microbial Communities; Microbiomes in Health and Disease; Functional Foods for Health; Practical Skills in Microbiome Science; Molecular Techniques in the Life Sciences;
Students also complete an up-to 6-months intensive research project.
