Catherine Fulvio headlines feast of activities during Science Week 2023
APC rolls out a host of activities during Science Week 2023.
Science Week 2023 is upon us once again running from November 12th-19th with public events taking place all over the country. This year’s theme focuses on what it means to be ‘Human’ and how our decisions and actions today impact future generations.
APC will once again be taking part and leading a range of events and activities during the week, including:
NOVEMBER 15TH – APC will run a Food Demo by Chef Catherine Fulvio (breakfast and dinner recipes gut friendly/fermented food) and feature insightful discussions about the Microbiome and fermented food by Prof Paul Cotter and Dr Elizabeth Schneider, and MCed by broadcaster and journalist Daire O’Brien. NOVEMBER 17TH – APC will release a new Podcast featuring Principal Investigator Prof Colin Hill in conversation and delving deep into the microbiome with world-renowned microbiologist Prof. Ruth Ley, recent recipient of the Charles Donovan Microbiome Prize Award.
NOVEMBER 18TH - Science@Marina Market Family Fun Day running in event room 1 in Marina Market from 11am-3pm with free admission. This is a science-fest collaboration with APC and Teagasc, VistaMilk, IPIC, Tyndall and Marei and promises a family-fun day for all including child-friendly science demonstrations and a colouring competition (for the kids!). APC’s inflatable gut will again be on site as will puppies from the Irish Guide Dogs.
