Congratulations to Recipients of the Mary Ryan Language Scholarships 2018-9
The School of Languages, Literatures and Cultures warmly congratulates the students who are recipients of the Mary Ryan Language Scholarships in 2018-9. The awards were presented at an award ceremony hosted by the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences on 18 November in UCC’s Aula Maxima. In making the awards, the Head of College, Professor Chris Williams, highlighted the importance of foreign language and intercultural skills in today’s global world, while also noting how the study of other languages and cultures allows students to develop alternative perspectives and insights on international issues.
The student recipients were: Cian Deasy, Gráinne Deasy, Emma Fitzgibbon, Mark Hartery, and Isabella Spence.
