Biography.
Sharon is a HRB PhD scholar in Health Services Research. She graduated with a BSc in Public Health and Health Promotion in 2011 and with a Master of Public Health (MPH) in 2012 from University College Cork. During her MPH, Sharon specialised in epidemiology, carrying out secondary analysis of the first wave (2008) of the Growing Up in Ireland data set, completing a thesis entitled, “The effects of Individual, familial and environmental factors on physical activity levels of Irish children”.
Her PhD explores the efficiency of laboratory testing among Primary Care physicians in the South of Ireland, with a key focus on the design, development and evaluation of behaviour change interventions. This research is a collaboration with the Department of Haematology at Cork University Hospital, under the supervision of Prof Mary Cahill, Prof Colin Bradley and Prof John Browne.
