Biography:
Claire graduated with a degree in Medicine from University College Cork in 2003 and undertook General Practice Training on the Cork GP Training Scheme. She completed a Master of Public Health in 2009 and then undertook an Academic Research Fellowship for Healthcare Professionals. Claire was awarded a PhD in 2014; her thesis was entitled ‘Lower Extremity Amputations in People with Diabetes: Trends and Determinants’.
Claire undertook Higher Specialist Training in Public Health Medicine from 2013-2016. On completion of training, Claire was appointed as a Senior Lecturer in the School of Public Health, UCC and as a Consultant in Public Health Medicine in the HSE.
In 2023, Claire was appointed as Honorary Professor at the School of Public Health in UCC.
