A new study of the eocnomic and societal impact of UCC showed that the system produced €1.18 billion in the 2022 financial year, returning €6 for every €1 of state investment, and supporting 1 in every 13 jobs in Cork city and county.

24 May 2024Three University College Cork (UCC) academics were recently elected to the Royal Irish Academy (RIA), the highest academic honour in Ireland. 28 newly elected members were officially admitted to the Academy at the Admittance Day for their exceptional contributions to the sciences, humanities, and social science, as well as to public service. The UCC senior academics newly elected to ‘Science’ in the RIA are Professor Maria McNamara, Professor Caitriona O’Driscoll and UCC President Professor John O’Halloran.
