The Department of Physiology was delighted to welcome the inaugural class to the launch of its new 2-year taught MSc degree in Clinical Measurement Physiology.

Two case reports on the societal value of basic research conducted in the Department of Physiology, UCC were included in a report published by The Physiological Society who organised, in partnership with the Royal Irish Academy, “Impact 2030 and the future of basic research funding” at the Houses of the Oireachtas in April. The report showcased the work of Dr Fiona McDonald and Mr. Jack Leacy.

Professor Ken O’Halloran and PhD researchers Aoife Slyne, Misha Maxwell and Tony Marullo particpated in the inaugural American Physiology Summit in Long Beach, California (April 20-23). Work from the SFI-funded INSPIRE DMD study was on show via oral and poster presentations at the conference. 

The Department of Physiology is delighted with the recent news that UCC places in the top 100 (51-100) internationally in the QS Rankings by Subject for Anatomy & Physiology. The 2023 QS World Rankings ranked >15,000 programmes across ~1,600 institutions.
