What is the Inaugural Lecture Series?

The College of Medicine & Health is pleased to announce the annual series of inaugural professorial lectures for 2023/24.

All professors new to the College are given the opportunity to give an inaugural lecture. The series provides an opportunity to celebrate our academics' achievements with each lecture representing a significant milestone in an an academic's career.

How to Attend

Our 2023/24 Inaugural Lecture Series will be hosted in person and will also be accessible online.

The usual format is a brief introduction from Professor Helen Whelton, Head of College of Medicine & Health, and the Dean of the relevant School, followed by a one-hour lecture from the newly appointed Professor. Attendance at lectures is open to all University staff and students as well as to members of the public. Please see above for upcoming lectures.

Additional dates for our 2023/24 lecture series will be added once confirmed, the campus venue and online links to each lecture will be provided closer to the event.
