The Department of Italian and the School of Languages, Literatures and Cultures UCC are pleased to announce a third series of five public lectures on the great Italian poet Dante Alighieri.
All lectures will be in English
Tues January 29 - Professor Alan Titley (UCC) - 'Irishing the Holy Joke: Dante in the Irish Language'
Tues February 5 – Professor Graham Allen (UCC) - ' Romantic Dantes’ (Rescheduled to 5 March). Dr Daragh O'Connell (UCC) - 'Stuck in the Middle with You: Flattery and Filth in Inferno XVIII'
Tues February 12 – Bernard O’Donoghue (University of Oxford) - 'Dante and the Irish Poets'
Tues February 19 - Professor Claire Honess (University of Leeds/ Leeds Centre for Dante Studies)- '"Un'anima sola soletta": the Strangeness of Solitude in Dante's Commedia'
