Irish Grammar Course for Students


Course Summary

This course will involve conversation and discussion which will focus primarily on Irish grammar. 

The following will be mentioned as part of this course:

  • The noun
  • The copula
  • The cases
  • Plurals
  • The adjective
  • Numbers
  • Prefixes and suffixes
  • Lenition
  • Using the dictionary etc
All students of UCC are welcome to attend this course. The course is specifically aimed at students who have a high standard of Irish and who would like to improve their knowledge of Irish grammar. This course will be taught completly through the medium of Irish.

Course Details - Spring 2026

Course Dates:  week commencing 2 February 2026 – week commencing 16 March 2026* (1 hour every week for 7 weeks).  Please let us know when you are unavailable to attend your class on the application form. This class will be arranged at a time that is suitable to the majority of students and the tutor.

Location: Classes will be held on campus.  

Deadline for Applications:  Thursday, 22 January 2026.

* an extra class will be arranged for students who will miss a class due to a bank holiday.
