HEaTED is a leading organisation for Higher Education and Technician Educational Development based at the University of Sheffield.  They provide opportunities for technical officers at all levels within the University to engage with CPD and training, as well as delivering networking events for all specialities.

UCC is now a member of HEaTED, joining a network of over 10,000 technical officers throughout the UK and Ireland.  As a UCC Technical Officer you have access to professional development opportunities and resources with over 150 specialist technical skills courses to choose from.

Particular emphasis is placed on professional networking and communication and this can provide you with opportunities to benchmark and network across the wider TO university community.  It importantly addresses UCC’s commitments to Technical Officer career development as outlined in the Expert Group on University Technical Grades report.  It is part of an overall aim to put a focus on the technical career framework and raise the professional profile in the University as a group of vital, highly qualified staff.
