Overview
Are you feeling overwhelmed with the rise of generative AI (GenAI) or unsure where to start?
This workshop from UCC Library staff will provide a general overview of what GenAI is, how it works, and how GenAI tools like Copilot might be used as part of your work in finding information. The session will include discussion, demonstrations and hands-on exercises, and consideration of appropriate use of AI and critical appraisal.
Attendees will be able to:
- Describe in simple terms what large language models (LLMs) are and how they work
- Describe some of the potential uses, while being conscious of the limitations
- Apply prompts in structured way to obtain suitable responses and information for their needs
- Critically evaluate the responses and information obtained through AI tools
