This session will introduce you to the FOI Act and will guide you through the basics, including:
- Understanding the Act and individuals’ rights under FOI
- What to do if you receive an FOI request
- Knowing the timelines and key actions for answering requests
- How to search for and list records
- Assessing whether any records are exempt from release
- Getting the final response ready
- Creating and managing your records with FOI in mind
- Putting your learnings into action with cases studies based on real FOI cases
