Biography:

I graduated from UCC with a BA in European Studies/Italian in 2003, an MA in International Relations in 2004 and a PhD in History in 2012. My research interests include among others: the Anglo-American 'Special Relationship'; the history, foreign policy and diplomacy of the US and UK; US-Latin American relations; UK-Latin American relations; international history and politics; European integration history;
US-Soviet relations; post-war Italian politics.

My doctoral thesis examined the effects of challenges emanating from the Latin American region upon a renewal in the 'Special Relationship' under President Ronald Reagan and Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher during the 1980s.

I am currently working on a monograph based upon my PhD and a chapter for an edited volume on the presidential legacy of Ronald Reagan.
