Dr Richard Milner
Biography
Having completed a Masters degree in Political and Public Communication in DCU, Richard went on to receive a PhD in Social Science from UCC in 2019. The research focus of his thesis, mainly concerning approaches to the analysis of political culture, public communication, and theories of learning and social change, now guides his intellectual interests and academic pursuits. Richard is currently working on the development of his methodological skills, specifically in the tradition of discourse analysis, while also pursuing more recent advancements in frame theory.
Research Interests
Richard lectures undergraduate and postgraduate modules in both Politics and Sociology in UCC, covering areas such as research methods and methodology, political sociology, Critical Theory, and democracy. He also contributes to a module in CIT as a lecturer in Geopolitics for MSc International Business, which is part of an innovative BA programme, International Business with Aviation Studies.
