Ger Wolfe
Biography
Ger teaches a course on songwriting at the School.
With songs like 'The Curra Road' and 'The Lark of Mayfield' Ger Wolfe has been steadily making a name for himself as one of the most respected singer/songwriters in this country.The Irish Times called him "An artist true to his roots"
Last year the Cork's most prolific songwriter released his fifth album of original music "No Bird Sang" welcomed by the Irish Examiner as 'His finest work to date'. A busy man, having produced 4 other critically acclaimed albums over the previous decade-"Word and Rhyme"(1998), 'Ragged Ground'(2002), Heaven Paints...(2004) and 'The Velvet Earth'(2006) while also touring extensively both as a solo artist and with his band 'The New Skylarks'.
Ger's songs have a very broad appeal and have been covered by Fiona Kelleher, Karan Casey, North Cregg, DANU and Sharon Shannon.
Some of Ger's own recordings have featured on a number of compilations, including 'Other Voices-songs from a room' , "The Garden Sessions" and 'The Diamond Mountain Sessions.'
