Financial Accounting Office

Introduction

The UCC Financial Accounting Office is responsible for the preparation of the UCC Parent & Group Annual Consolidated Financial Statements and the Management of Commercial & State Audits.  It acts as an enabler to strategic activities required post Audit. Financial Accounting plays a key role in the preparation of HEA reports and provides operational financial support to Subsidiaries, Central Units and College Departments on technical accounting matters. It is responsible for Group VAT Reporting for the University and other statutory returns and Payroll/Tax assistance.

Financial Accounting provides important financial information to the overall UCC group financial management and control area.

UCC Financial Statements

The UCC Financial Accounting Office is responsible for the preparation of the UCC Parent & Group Annual Consolidated Financial Statements

The consolidated financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Standards) and reflect all university group transactions within the financial year.

The consolidated financial statements are audited by external auditors to the University College Cork.  The financial statements are also audited on an annual basis by the Comptroller and Auditor General.
