Climate change and healthy AgeinG: co-creating E-learning for resilience and adaptation (chAnGE)

Recent unprecedented climate change and extreme weather events have resulted in an escalation in climate-related health risks amongst an ever-expanding European population of older people. Funded by the European Union (ERASMUS), the chAnGE project is an Alliance of HEI, VET and Health & Social Care organisations [HSCOs] across Ireland, Portugal, Finland, Austria & Greece. These partners are co-creating a suite of online microcredentials (MC) for HSC workers who plan/deliver care to older people. The overarching goal of the online MCs is to equip HSC works with the confidence, knowledge and skillsets to plan/incorporate climate adaptation along with resilience into their work. The innovative education will be novel (based on extensive needs/gap analyses), interactive, accessible, bite-sized, stackable, and co-created with target learners/older people, at EQF level 4-6. The curriculum & learning content and learning-amplification resources will be freely available for others to adapt/use.
