What is UCC PROPEL: A Job Market Readiness Programme for Newly-Arrived International Students?

In February 2020, UCC Career Services launched the International Student Working Group to enhance employability for international students at UCC.

To address this need, we developed the PROPEL: A Job Market Readiness Programme for Newly-Arrived International Students which is delivered online and in-person though a hybrid programme for newly-arrived, registered international students of UCC, this module is designed to help students navigate the challenges of gaining employment and developing long-term employability while studying in Ireland.

The module includes three sequential units:

• Unit 1: Workplace Readiness Skills
• Unit 2: Prepare for the Irish Job Market
• Unit 3: Prepare to Engage with Employers

Each unit concludes with a short assignment that contributes to earning the UCC Propel Award—a digital badge that can be added to your CV and LinkedIn profile.

PROPEL: A Job Market Readiness Programme for Newly-Arrived International Students is available to registered students of UCC. Newly registered students will receive enrolment information on commencement of their degree in September.
