The 2020 documentary film "The Last Austrians" depicts the lives and struggles of people in a small western Ukrainian village called "Königsfeld" (Усть-Чорна). Of the Austrian descendants who emigrated to the village in the 18th century, only a few dozen still live there. The question of survival is omnipresent, and while some villagers decide to emigrate, others try to breathe new life into their village. The director Lukas Pitscheider will also be present and happy to answer all your questions about the filmmaking process. Following the screening, we invite you to a wine reception to celebrate the premiere. The film will be in Ukrainian, Austrian German dialect and with English subtitles.
