In this seminar, visiting Fulbright Scholar Dr Rachel Seidman will discuss the Stories to Save Lives project, which seeks to bring the powerful community engaged research methodology of oral history to bear on one of the critical issues of our time - healthcare.  

In order to develop more effective interventions to save and improve lives, our health care systems need the stories that ordinary lay people themselves have to tell. Dr Seidman will discuss how the project is using digital tools to share the insights of ordinary residents into their own health beliefs and why they think health care challenges exist in their communities. This goal of this community engaged research project is to profoundly reshape how policy makers and health care professionals approach this major societal challenge.
