Frank Murphy

Monex

Wexford born Frank Murphy was a BComm graduate of UCC prior to taking a position as Chartered Accountant with Deloitte. Frank is founder and CEO of Kerry based Monex Financial Services, a global FinTech provider of bespoke foreign exchange (FX) treasury solutions incorporating Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) as a core service offering. Monex achieves turnover in excess of €107million and its DCC service is available in 48 countries with support centres and international consultants in prime global locations. Commencing business in 1997, Monex became the first DCC provider to receive PCI DSS certification subsequently becoming the pioneering company for DCC in Europe, US, India and China and first to implement DCC for the ATM sector. The Company process over €40billion in FX transactions for ATM, POS, eCommerce and VAT clients. Frank has held Directorships with established companies in the payment ecosystem including, Global Blue, Fintrax, Fexco and Western Union. 

 

In 2017 he founded the Monex Scholarship Program to financially support Killarney students progressing to Cork University Business School. When not engaged with Monex global business development, Frank can be found focused on his second professional interest at Glen South Farm, Cork, where he maintains a herd of over 500 cattle. In 2014 Glen South installed Europe’s first robotic beef feeding system becoming a trailblazer in Irish “farm to fork” beef supply.
