UCC Hockey Club – End of Season Newsletter
This marks the final newsletter of what has been an incredibly successful season for UCC Hockey Club.
Last Friday evening, Munster Hockey hosted their annual awards night, where UCC was strongly represented. The club collected three league titles on the night – Women’s Division 1, Division 2, and Division 3 – as well as a prestigious individual honour, with Micaela Sanderson named Female Player of the Year.
Overall, it has been a remarkable season, with the club securing nine titles across all competitions:
- Women’s Division 1 – League & Cup (2nd time in the club's history)
- Women’s Division 2 – League, Cup & Examiner Cup
- Women’s Division 3 – League & Cup, and promotion to Division 2
- Division 3/4 Combined Cup
- Men’s Mauritius Plate
In addition, our Division 7 team finished their season on a high, earning promotion to Division 6 with an excellent 3–2 victory over Cork Wanderers in their final match.
On the representative front, UCC players also featured strongly at the U21 Festival in Dublin this past weekend. Coached by Reece Hawtrey, the team performed very well, highlighting the depth of talent within the club.
Overall, it has been a season of outstanding achievement, development, and success across all levels of the club.
