Thanks to Rachel Iredale and Brendan Owens from Research Ireland for visiting UCC Sustainability Institute
We had an excellent, wide ranging and very interesting discussion regarding engaged research, drawing heavily on our experiences in MaREI.
We covered methods, challenges, opportunities and impact, delving into engaged research, public engagement and research on engagement. We also teased out the role researchers can play in informing, underpinning and co-producing national and local policy, not only in terms of policy development but also policy implementation and practice.
We were left with a very positive sense of where Research Ireland is heading in terms of advancing engaged research and look forward to where this journey together takes us.
