The Energy Policy and Modelling Group were awarded winners of the Research Team of the Year 2025 at last nights UCC Research and Innovation Awards.
The Energy Policy and Modelling Group (EPMG) is delighted to announce that we were awarded the Research Team of the Year 2025 at the University College Cork Research and Innovation Awards, presented last night at UCC.
This award recognises the outstanding dedication, collaboration, and impact of the EPMG team across research, policy engagement, innovation, and societal contribution. It is a significant acknowledgement of the team’s commitment to delivering high-quality interdisciplinary research that supports evidence-based energy and climate policy development in Ireland and internationally.
The award celebrates the collective efforts of our researchers, students, collaborators, and partners who contribute to advancing innovative solutions to complex energy and sustainability challenges. Over the past year, the team has continued to demonstrate excellence through internationally recognised research outputs, strong stakeholder engagement, impactful collaborations, and meaningful contributions to public policy and societal well-being.
EPMG’s work spans energy systems modelling, climate action, sustainability transitions, and policy analysis, with a strong emphasis on translating research into real-world impact. The team is particularly proud of its collaborative culture, including its continued support and mentorship of early-career researchers and postgraduate students.
Receiving this award reflects the hard work and dedication of the entire team and reinforces EPMG’s mission to deliver research that informs decision-making and contributes to a more sustainable future.
We would like to sincerely thank University College Cork for this recognition and extend our congratulations to all nominees and award recipients recognised during the evening.
