Huge thanks to Cornell Atkinson Center for Sustainability
Prof Brian Ó Gallachóir visits Cornell Atkinson Center for Sustainability
Huge thanks to C. Lindsay Anderson for hosting Prof Brian Ó Gallachóir at Cornell Atkinson Center for Sustainability for the past two days.
It was a great pleasure to meet some of the wonderful academics researching important sustainability topics, including Tobias Hanrath, Rebecca Morgenstern Brenner, Michael Charles, Sheila Olmstead and Buz Barstow, who are enabled in their research by the Center team including Patrick Beary and Maharsh Barot.
We spoke not only about the research itself but how best to translate the research results into economic, policy and societal impact.
I also had some great discussions with the Cornell University sustainability office (including Sarah Carson, Cole Tucker, PE, CEM, MBA and Stacey Edwards) on the shared challenges that we also face in University College Cork (particularly on reducing scope 3 GHG emissions) and the different ways we’ve made in reducing fuel and electricity related emissions).
Some great insights and learnings to take back to UCC Sustainability Institute.
And thanks for arranging such wonderful weather!
