APC Hosts Visit Of HE Stéphane Crouzat, Ambassadeur De France En Irlande
French Ambassador to Ireland, HE Stéphane Crouzat, along with Dr Marc Daumas, Science Attaché in the French Embassy, visited APC Microbiome Ireland on April 26th 2018 for an introduction to the microbiome and to find out about ongoing research at the APC. The visiting group also included Mr Pierre Mongrué, Head of the Economic Department and Ms Louise Aupetit, Scientific Project Manager.
During their visit to the APC, they were given a general overview of the microbiome, and specific examples of some of the ongoing research at APC by APC’s General Manager, Dr Sally Cudmore. We also discussed the 39 collaborations that APC researchers have with researchers in France, and ways of strengthening these collaborations and developing new ones. Then the French Embassy visitors went for a tour of some APC research labs where they met some of our French researchers, including Cassandra Gheorghe (an undergraduate student from Ecole de Biologie Industrielle who is doing a placement in the APC), Dr Celine Ribiere (APC Postdoctoral Fellow) and Prof Jean-François Brugère (University Lecturer on sabbatical from Université d’Auvergne, Clermont-Ferrand).
