Dr Brendan Curran appointed COO at APC
Dr Brendan Curran has been appointed as the new Chief Operations Officer at APC Microbiome Ireland (APC), a world-leading SFI funded research centre.
Brendan has been interim general manager at APC since 2021. He joined the APC in 2013 as IP & Business Development Manager, with responsibility for protecting and commercialising IP arising from the APC research programme and fostering APC industry partnerships.
Brendan has a psychology degree from UCD, an MSc in Neuroscience from King’s College London and a PhD in Neurophysiology from UCD. Following post-doctoral work in neurobiology at the Vrije University in Amsterdam Brendan returned to Ireland and joined the Health Research Board in 2004 as research evaluation manager.

As the leader of the APC Operations Management team responsible for the effective day-to-day running of the Institute, Brendan will work closely with myself to progress the strategic development of the Institute, and lead the business development function by engaging with existing and potential industry partners.”
