14 APC researchers feature on world's elite science list
14 APC scientists listed in Highly Cited Researchers 2022 list from Clarivate
APC Microbiome Ireland (APC) is proud to announce that 14 of its researchers feature in the Highly Cited Researchers 2022 list from Clarivate.
The annual list features the researchers in the top 1% of the Web of Science citation index and recognises pioneers in their field whose citation records position them in the very highest strata of research influence and impact. UCC has the highest number for any Irish university on the list (14 out of 35 Irish researchers listed) with Harvard University again named the top-performing institution globally, with 233 researchers making the list.
APC researchers were recognised as global leaders in fields such as food, therapeutics, microbiome and health, and agricultural science This year’s success represents an increase from 2021 when 13 APC researchers made the list. APC has established itself as a leading global centre in gut microbiota research and is currently working on research projects with many multinational food and nutrition corporations, as well as Irish SMEs.

7,225 researcher awards from 69 countries and regions are recognized this year – 3,981 in specific fields and 3,244 for cross-field impact.
