Culture Night at BEES takes place on Friday 20th of September

Scientists could be set to reveal the most accurate depictions of ancient vertebrates ever made after a world-first discovery at University College Cork (UCC).  

It is no secret that the world’s oceans are swimming with plastic debris —but the reach of human plastic waste is as deep as 2125m, even 320km offshore, a UCC-led expedition has revealed.

Dr Jean O'Dwyer and Dr Ed Jarvis picked up SEFS teaching awards recently.

Ronan O’Sullivan, a PhD student in the School of BEES, along with an international team of collaborators have published research examining how evolution may be measured in a free-living population of Atlantic salmon.

The School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences seeks a Senior Demonstrator to carry out teaching, administration and examination duties pertaining to first year Biology practicals within the School, and to run the School’s highly successful Transition Year Programme. 

The Department of Education has established a third-level scholarship to honour Irish scientist and Nobel Prize winner Professor William C Campbell. The scholarship is open to those intending to study Zoology.

Permanent Whole Time Post. UCC wishes to appoint an experienced academic to the role of Lecturer in Environmental Science. Reporting to the Head of School, the appointee will be required to develop and teach modules as part of the undergraduate and postgraduate curricula in Environmental Science.

BEES 4th Year undergraduate Simon Jeggo has won an entrepreneur award for his fouth year project.
