There are a number of Travel Grants available from the School of History Glucksman Fund Travel Grant Scheme 2019-20.
This scheme is intended to facilitate research travel to the USA and is restricted to that country only, but any research student (MPhil and PhD) whose research topic would demonstrably profit from going to the USA to conduct research in archives or specialised libraries there may apply. Usually a maximum amount of €1000 will be granted; however, in exceptional circumstances as laid down by the applicant, this maximum amount may be exceeded.
If you fall into this research category and are interested in going to the USA, fill in the form, have it signed by your supervisor and send it back to me, together with a 500-word research proposal that outlines the rationale for the intended research trip to the USA. The documentation needs to be in both hard copy and electronic copy. The hard copy of your application must be placed in my mailbox at Tyrconnell, School of History, and the electronic copy sent to: j.aandewiel@ucc.ie
The submission deadline is Wednesday 1 April 2020
All research trips must be completed by end August 2020 and itemised original receipts/invoices/electronic bookings must be submitted by Thursday 3 September 2020 at the latest.
