NUI Dr Mary L Thornton Scholarship and Prize in Education

- You may be eligible to apply if you have been accepted, or have applied for admission, to a research degree at doctoral level in the field of Education in one of the NUI constituent universities

This is an NUI Scholarship and Prize in Education funded by a bequest from the late Dr Mary L Thornton.
The Scholarship is valued at €6,000 and the Prize is valued at €1,000.
The Scholarship and Prize are intended to encourage doctoral research in the field of education, including the study of higher education, within the constituent universities, linked colleges and Recognised Colleges of the NUI. NUI would wish, through the Scholarship and Prize, to encourage research related to Irish higher education and accordingly, preference will be given to applications in this area. However, applications will be accepted in relation to projects in any area of educational research.
Applicants do not need to hold an NUI degree in order to be eligible for this Scholarship and Prize, however, they must have been accepted, or have applied for admission, to a research degree at doctoral level in the field of Education in a constituent university or recognised college or college linked with a constituent university of NUI.
