Pre-existing diabetes in pregnancy

The NPEC Data Hub - Diabetes project signifies a noteworthy step in our ongoing efforts to improve maternal and perinatal care in the Ireland. This collaboration between the National Perinatal Epidemiology Centre (NPEC) and the National Diabetes in Pregnancy Audit Group brings together expertise from various domains to address a critical aspect of maternal health.

Utilising the electronic data collected by the National Diabetes in Pregnancy Audit Group since 2015, this collaboration aims to enhance our understanding of pregnancy outcomes for women with pre-gestational diabetes. Through systematic analysis of data covering pregnancy preparation, complications, and maternal as well as fetal outcomes, our goal is to inform clinical practices and enhance support systems for these women.

The NPEC Data Hub - Diabetes project reflects our commitment to using real-time data for actionable insights, contributing to the advancement of care standards for women with diabetes during pregnancy in Ireland.

The data collection tool has been designed in collaboration with Dr. Christine Newman and the rest of the National Diabetes in Pregnancy Audit Group.
