Welcome to the twelfth report of the Perinatal Mortality National Clinical Audit, conducted by the National Perinatal Epidemiology Centre (NPEC). This edition marks a milestone as the first web-based report, designed to make findings more accessible and easier to navigate. 

The report presents key findings from perinatal deaths in Ireland during 2023.

Edel Manning, representing MDE Ireland, was invited to speak at this year’s  EMBRRACE -UK 'Saving Lives, Improving Mothers' Care' virtual conference 2025, reflecting her contributions and expertise in maternal and perinatal health.

Maternal Death Enquiry (MDE) Ireland, has published Data Brief No. 8, covering maternal mortality in Ireland over the period 2021–2023.

MDE Ireland, which conducts confidential reviews into maternal deaths to identify learning points and improve maternity services, released the brief as part of its ongoing mission to promote safer pregnancy.
