Public Lecture on German Art & Modernism at UCC, 2 May
"Crimes and Misdemeanours: German Art and the Culture of the Case,
1880-1933"is the title of a lecture to be delivered by Dr Frederic
Schwarz (London) on Wednesday, 2 May in UCC.
Frederic J. Schwartz is the author of Blind Spots: Critical Theory and
the History of Art in Twentieth-Century Germany (2005) and The
Werkbund: Design Theory and Mass Culture Before the First World War
(1996), and is an editor of the Oxford Art Journal. He teaches History
of Art at University College. London.
This is the final lecture in the 2006/07 lecture series in theories of
Modernism and Postmodernism in the Visual Arts organised by History of
Art at UCC. The series brings national and international scholars to
UCC to reflect upon and present their research in a series of events.
The lecture takes place on Wednesday, 2 May at 6pm, in West Wing 9,
Main Campus, UCC. Members of the public are invited to attend and
admission is free. There will also be a reading group to
accompany the event organised by History of Art. Anyone
