The CPD unit at the School of Medicine provides a range of services for internal academics. These include advice on course design and development, marketing, costing, and course professional accreditation.

Course organisers are required to complete a short course proposal form. New courses are reviewed after the first year and are then treated as existing courses. Course organisers are asked to submit a course evaluation/feedback report after the first year.

The quality assurance approval procedures are intended to monitor and enhance the quality of courses offered by the School of Medicine at UCC.  The process also ensures that short courses are appropriately costed, that the courses meet the needs of  target customers, that professional standards associated with developing and running courses are adhered to, and that course evaluation and student feedback processes are in place.
