The third National Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) Festival, a pioneering event that brings together patients, the public, healthcare professionals and researchers to celebrate the crucial role of public involvement in shaping health research in Ireland was launched at UCC this week. 

Oral Health in Ireland: A Handbook for Health Professionals  was launched in the Oral Health Services Research Centre, Dental School and Hospital UCC recently. The handbook is a publication of the Dental Health Foundation with content support from the Oral Health Services Research Centre, UCC. The publication is designed to support health professionals while encouraging everyone to value good oral health. By valuing and caring for our mouths we can safeguard our general health.

The National Suicide Research Foundation (NSRF) with funding from the Health Service Executive’s National Office for Suicide Prevention (HSE-NOSP) have spearheaded the development of a suicide prevention training module for undergraduate healthcare students, receiving recent additional support from the UCC Centre for Integrated Research in Teaching and Learning SATLE fund.

UCC’s School of Nursing and Midwifery and School of Public Health have successfully renewed their Bronze Athena Swan awards, recognising both Schools commitment to advancing gender equality and representation through good employment practices and promoting equality in higher education.
