Researchers and innovators at the College of Medicine and Health at University College Cork are showcasing their work at the inaugural ‘Bright Futures – Celebrating our Researchers Day’ today.

A new MSc programme in Palliative Care has launched in partnership with Marymount University Hospital and Hospice and University College Cork.

COMET is an international and interdisciplinary conference on communication, medicine and ethics.

ALK, a leading Danish pharmaceutical company producing treatments for allergies, is now in its second year of supporting UCC’s Postgraduate Programme in Allergy and Clinical Immunology.

On 28th April 2023, Professor Helen Whelton, Head of CoMH, and CAO SSWHG, was invited to speak at the University Hospital Limerick Clinical Education & Research Centre Grand Rounds.

Prof Whelton spoke on the value of ‘Bridging the gap between academic endeavour and health service'.  

UCC has appointed Professor Gerard O’Keeffe as its new Vice Head for Research and Innovation at College of Medicine and Health.

Congratulations to all our students in the College of Medicine and Health who were conferred in UCC's historic Aula Maxima on Wednesday 29th March!

Dr. Aoife Fleming will promote the development of Interprofessional Learning (IPL) opportunities for students as well as supporting collaborative partnerships between College of Medicine and Health and the health services and promoting public and patient engagement in IPL education. She will lead an IPL action plan and work with a community of IPL advocates across Schools and Departments in CoMH to promote IPL education and research.

The College of Medicine and Health celebrated the achievements of 36 students who received a Quercus Undergraduate College Scholarship at a special event in the Dr Dora Allman Room on Thursday, 23 March. 

UCC’s School of Nursing and Midwifery has attained a top 50 place in the QS subject Rankings - a collective well done to the staff and students of the UCC’s School of Nursing and Midwifery, clinical partners and national and international collaborators linked with the School. This is truly a collective effort.

This year Nursing attained the highest subject ranking across 54 specific subjects ranked by QS within UCC - a fact that the school is extremely proud of.

In addition a QS score of 33, places UCC’s School of Nursing and Midwifery as the top ranked School in Ireland. World university rankings show nursing is one of Ireland’s strongest subjects with four Universities making it to the top 100 in the QS rankings most years.
