The Department of Applied Social Studies is seeking to recruit two Research Officers for 2-year whole-time contracts; to work on an exciting new project entitled Civil society, youth and youth policy in modern Ireland. The project is being funded by the Irish Research Council for the Humanities and Social Sciences. The project will conduct research on youth policy, youth work and youth organisations.
One of the positions will suit a graduate of social science, sociology or a cognate discipline who has experience of qualitative and quantitative research methods. The other position will suit a graduate with experience of documentary or archival research, possibly a social scientist or historian.
The successful candidates will be: educated to Masters or PhD standard; highly motivated and self-starting; able to work co-operatively within a research team; and demonstrate the ability to work to agreed outcomes and deadlines.
